Essential Functions: THIS IS A SUBSIDY CONDITIONED APPOINTMENT. Responsible for Admissions: Evaluate and process student applications, admit or reject students based on academic credentials*, coordinate submission of admission documentation to the LMU Munchen, prepare student body for a year/semester of study in Germany, produce informational materials, oversee production of transcripts. Advise students on transferring credit to home institution and ordering transcripts. Advise and assist with visa applications for international students. Liaison with WSU Admissions, Registration, Accounts Receivable, Records, Financial Aid.Responsible for Finances: Manage financial functions of the program. Supervise German office accounting, produce complex financial reports in Euros and Dollars**, initiate Euro purchases, process all student and third party billings, collect on delinquent accounts, ensure SARs are paid.Responsible for Academic Advising. Advise students on coursework options at the German university, match student degree requirements to course availability and appropriateness for students' German language skills, translate course description for advisors when necessary, guide students through German course catalogue and proposed course schedules. Responsible for National Student Recruitment: Liaison with affiliated universities and study abroad offices and advisors. Oversee production and distribution of annual brochure, coordinate advertising, marketing, and promotional materials. Respond to all enquiries on all aspects of the program from students, parents, German faculty, study abroad offices. Attend study abroad fairs and recruitment events.Responsible for Health and Safety: Respond to student health, safety and security issues that arise when students are abroad, including emergencies and crisis situations (e.g. terrorist attacks) outside business hours; implement health and safety processes to be in compliance with Forum on Education Abroad standards of best practices and federal and state laws pertaining to education abroad.Responsible for Alumni Relations: Maintain relationship with JYM alumni, oversee production and mailing of alumni newsletters and annual fundraising materials. Maintain alumni records, monitor gift reports, produce thank you cards.Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Master's degreeReading knowledge of German in order to a) research courses at the LMU Munchen, b) read German-language grade reports from Munich & c) understand German language receipts to supervise accounting in Munich.Five years administrative or advising experience in some field of education abroad.Ability to work independently, use initiative, exercise good judgement, and have outstanding communication skills.Knowledge of WSU administrative systems (Banner, Cognos, CashNet, TravelWayne, WayneBuy, etc.) and MS-Office (Access, Excel, Word). Considerable knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
