The Barry lab (https://www.canr.msu.edu/people/dr_cornelius_barry) in the Department of Horticulture at Michigan State University is seeking applications for research associates (postdoctoral scientists) to perform research on National Science Foundation funded projects investigating the biochemical evolution of plant specialized metabolism with an emphasis on tropane alkaloid biosynthesis in the Solanaceae and additional plant families.
We are seeking highly motivated scientists with demonstrated expertise in plant biochemistry together with experience in one or more of the following areas: genomics, molecular biology, metabolite profiling, metabolite purification, chemical synthesis, and structural elucidation of small molecules. Applicants should have a strong interest in plant specialized metabolism, excellent communication skills and be able to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team with collaborating groups at MSU and other institutions (https://trichome.natsci.msu.edu/).
Doctorate -the plant sciences
