The College of Social Science at Michigan State University seeks candidates for a 9-month academic year, tenure system position in Comparative Politics. We are looking to hire an Assistant Professor, preferably at a more advanced level. As part of a new initiative on Minority Politics, we seek applicants whose research and teaching (graduate and undergraduate) falls in the politics of identity and representation (related to ethnicity, race, religion, caste, tribe, region, gender, sexual orientation, and/or class) in a comparative context. The position is open with regard to regional specialization, social scientific disciplinary training, and tenure home within the College of Social Science. A successful candidate will have evidence of securing external funding, a record of publishing high quality research, a strong future research agenda, and a documented commitment to teaching. The position begins August 16, 2019.
