Romance Languages Instructor/Assistant Professor Pool
The Department of Romance and Classical Studies seeks applications for a pool of qualified fixed-term instructors to teach courses in French, Italian, Latin, Portuguese, or Spanish if the need arises. The review of applications is ongoing and continuous.
Please note that a position could be part-time or full-time and vary by semester, depending on the needs of the department. It is possible that no positions are needed in some semesters.
Teaching lower and/or upper division courses, based on qualifications, in one of the languages listed above;
Holding office hours;
Preparing course materials;
Following course policies and guidelines;
Attending all workshops and meetings required for the class;
Appointments are initially for one year or one semester, depending on scheduling needs, but may be renewed based on funding and performance.
Salary and rank are commensurate with experience.

M.A. or equivalent in French, Italian, Latin, Portuguese, or Spanish .
Native or near native proficiency in that language and English or advanced knowledge in the case of Latin.
Ph.D. or equivalent in French, Italian, Latin, Portuguese, or Spanish.

Recent teaching evaluations from at least 3 courses, including student ratings and comments;
Summary of your experience with diversity in the classroom and/or in your past or planned research endeavors, any experience mentoring diverse students or community outreach initiatives, and an explanation of how you will advance our goals of inclusive excellence;
Names and email addresses of 3 references who will be contacted only if the department requests.
