Essential Functions: As part of the Make Your Date Pregnancy Education Team, the Health Education Facilitator supports the execution of pregnancy education outreach in various OB/GYN clinic sites in and around Detroit for the purpose of recruiting program participants, providing robust pregnancy education curriculum to participants, and increasing overall awareness of the Make Your Date program. This position is responsible for maintaining positive relationships with program participants and area OB/GYN clinics. Candidates for this position will:Learn and become familiar with educational material.Act as the primary contact for participants from off-site OB/GYN clinics, providing follow-up services.Recruit participants into the Make Your Date program.Represent Make Your Date at community baby showers, informational gatherings for partners, etc.Collect participant data from off-site OB/GYN clinics.Assist participants with resources and program incentives.Other duties needed related to Make Your Date Program
Qualifications: Bachelor degree is preferred in Social Work, Education, Health or related field or equivalent work experience.Community based education experience is preferred.Basic knowledge and understanding of medical terminology and processes as related to pregnancy and postpartum.Ability to effectively communicate the importance of preterm birth awareness, cervical length measurement and healthy pregnancy outcomes to program participants and prospective partners.Fifty percent of time will be spent traveling to different clinics.
