As part of a multi-year, multi-departmental effort to expand and strengthen the research portfolio of Michigan State University in the area of ultrafast science, the Department of Chemistry seeks outstanding candidates for a position at the Assistant Professor level. Individuals with interest and expertise in the application of ultrafast experimental methods to the study of chemical processes in areas including (but not limited to) catalysis, interfacial phenomena, materials, and energy sciences are encouraged to apply. Depending on the nature of the research, a minority appointment in the Department of Physics is also possible.
Successful candidates should have demonstrated productivity and evidence of potential for independent research, develop a vigorous, externally funded research program, as well as contribute to the teaching mission of the University at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
