Efficiently and accurately catalog books, and other library materials for inclusion in NOVA's online library catalog. Use independent judgment in analyzing and interpreting rules and procedures in making independent decisions to ensure user-friendly searching that will provide easy access to NOVA's extensive collection of library materials, and that will enable students to find the materials they need for class assignments.
Description of Duties and Tasks:
Catalog monographs (books) with Library of Congress copy cataloging. Share responsibility of serials, AV, and e-resources cataloging with other cataloging Library Specialists when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications :
AS in Library Sciences or related field, or equivalent applicable experience or training; previous experience in Library technical services and cataloging.
BS in Library Sciences or related field, or equivalent applicable experience or training; Previous Technical services and library assistance experience at a level requiring self-direction and judgment in decision-making. Significant demonstrated knowledge of library cataloging, online cataloging (OCLC) experience.
