The College of Health Professions at the University of Detroit Mercy seeks a tenure-track or tenured Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Health Services Administration to begin in August 2019.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
(1) Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Fall and Winter semesters in the Health Services Administration program (2) All faculty members are expected to conduct scholarly research for publication and take an active role in curriculum development. (3) Advise students on curriculum and plans of study (4) Provide service to the program, college and university through participation in committees and attendance at sponsored events (5) Demonstrated proficiency with online instruction/online teaching & learning methods (6) Able to teach at the McNichols campus and the Macomb University Center campus (6) Be a vibrant contributor to the University of Detroit Mercy Community (7) Other duties as assigned.
(1) Requires a doctoral degree in health administration, or a closely related health discipline; Candidates with a Master’s degree (health administration or related field) will be considered as Instructor if candidate is 1-year from completing terminal degree (2) Active research agenda (Assistant Professor) or demonstrated excellence in research (associate/full professor). (3) Minimum of two-years of college or university teaching experience (4) Management experience in healthcare (5) Familiarity with course, curriculum, and program development, implementation and review (6) Knowledge of internet based scholarly research methods and academic databases (7) Evidenced faculty role as a committed collaborator/team player (evidence can be included/covered in reference letters) (8) Commitment to the mission of the University of Detroit Mercy and the Health Services Administration program
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidates with a specialization in healthcare marketing, strategic planning, human resources management, quality improvement/Lean Six Sigma, community/population health and artificial intelligence in healthcare are strongly encouraged to apply, but all areas of expertise will be considered.
Job may require lifting light weight objects (1 to 10 pounds) with no repetitive bending or stooping. Occasionally lift average weight objects (1 to 10 pounds).
Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.
Salary/Pay Information: Commensurate with Experience
