Essential Functions: The Dept. of Psychiatry & Behavioral Neurosciences (DPBN) at Wayne State University (WSU) invites applications for a psychiatrist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level (Clinical-Educator Track).The responsibilities of this position include acting as assistant medical student program director, designing rotation schedule for medical student class years, coordinating medical student didactics, coordinating medical student rotations, collaborating with resident education to identify candidates for psychiatry residency, monitoring medical student supervision at participating institutions, preparing and submitting accurate information required by the ACGME, milestones reports, and any program information forms or self-studies, implementing policies and procedures consistent with the institutional and program requirements, monitoring the need for and ensuring the provision of back-up support systems, participate as a regular interviewer of applicants, participate in clinical treatment operations of the Department.
Qualifications: Applicants should have a U.S. medical degree or equivalent (M.D. or D.O.) with post-doctoral credentialing in psychiatry. We seek individuals with clinical and teaching experience in psychiatry, with potential to develop multidisciplinary team approaches. Applicants with interest in developing new resident education initiatives, bringing an academic focus to resident education will provide synergy with existing faculty activities. Applicants with academic aspirations, e.g, publication, submitting grant proposals in resident education are particularly encouraged to apply.Successful candidates will exhibit leadership potential, creativity and initiative, high ethical responsibility, and strong ability to work collaboratively.
