The MSU Department of Psychology has openings for fixed-term instructors/assistant professors to teach online courses for our program evaluation master’s degree and certificate program. We are searching for candidates who are evaluation practitioners and have formal or informal teaching/training experience.
The review of applications is ongoing and continuous. Please note that a position could be part-time or full-time and vary by semester, depending on the needs of the department. It is possible that no positions are needed in some semesters.
Preparing course materials and syllabi, building on existing courses
Delivering courses online
Managing and grading all assignments
Following university, department, and course policies and guidelines
Attending faculty meetings via web conference
Being available to students for professional guidance (in-formal advising)
As applicable, reviewing students’ credit transfer requests by assessing, via syllabus review, the equivalency of a completed course and our program evaluation course
Appointments are initially for one year, depending on scheduling needs, but may be renewed based on demand and performance. Salary is based on an established compensation model.
Doctorate -Evaluation or a related field
Advanced degree in evaluation or a related field such as education, social sciences, or public health. Master's for Instructor Rank; PhD for Assistant Professor Rank (PhD required by the date of hire).
The successful candidate must also have designed and carried out multiple evaluation projects and have teaching experience in a formal (e.g., university) or informal setting (professional workshops/trainings).
Active evaluation practice as evidenced by an evaluation contract or position within the past 12 months
Broad understanding of evaluation as a field of professional practice
Membership in a professional evaluation association, e.g., AEA, EES, or CES
Experience teaching evaluation theory or methods courses
Experience with online teaching
