Job Summary: JOB SUMMARY: To assist in developing, promoting and supervising all facets of the University's Golf program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Head Coach in the following:
Assist in preparing and executing practice plans as well as strategies and alternatives which are designed to bring success to the program.
Ensuring that all relevant institutional, conference and NCAA rules and regulations are followed including, but not limited to: player eligibility, recruiting, financial aid, scheduling and academic progress.
Responsible for promoting a positive academic environment to encourage all athletes to strive for academic excellence.
Providing moral support and encouragement and ensure the safety and well being of the student-athletes.
Establishing and maintaining community contacts, which enhance the success of the program.
Assist in directing and managing the recruiting efforts of the program within the financial limits of the Athletic Assistance Grants.
Establishing and maintaining a positive relationship with media.
Maintain appropriate communications with student-athletes and parents.
Assist in the planning of fund raising efforts and other activities which promote the program.
Assist in managing travel arrangements for the team.
Assisting in the promoting and operating the youth summer camp program (If one were to be established.
Other duties as assigned.
RELATED QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to project a positive and professional image in pressure situations.
Ability to provide leadership to student-athletes and staff.
Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to driver University/State and rental vehicles under all applicable policies.
Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications: PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Three years of high school or college golf coaching experience, or collegiate playing experience.
