Michigan State University seeks a part time instructor to develop and teach an introductory, online summer course on the critical study of fairy tales/folklore in the College of Arts & Letters in summer 2019.
The requirements for a successful candidate include:
M.A. in (Comparative) Literature, Cinema or Media Studies, Cultural Studies in any major language with a fairy tale tradition, or a related field.
Demonstrated, successful experience teaching online courses at the college level, preferably in a general education course in the Humanities or a related field.
Demonstrated interest in fairy tale/folklore or popular culture studies preferred either through scholarly publications and/or teaching experience.
Near-native proficiency in English.
Demonstrated relationship of the study of fairy tales to the candidate’s area of expertise
Ph.D. is preferred.
