Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine seeks a dynamic individual to serve as the Director of Instructional Design and Assessment to support its professional programs. This position will lead innovation in curriculum content, delivery, and evaluation methodology in collaboration with college faculty and administration. The Director of Instructional Design and Assessment will serve within the Division of Medical Education as a fixed-term academic staff member. The position will report to the Associate Dean for Medical Education and will be supported by curriculum assistants.
Partner with college faculty to manage and enhance content of the osteopathic medical education curriculum and assist with faculty development to support these objectives.
Optimize alignment of curriculum and assessment methods with the mission of the college, best academic practices, and national benchmarks.
Develop and maintain metrics to monitor achievement at the student and program level, and to promote continuous quality improvement within the program.
Coordinate development and annual review of the college’s assessment plan, and assist with tracking and reporting of compliance with accreditation standards.
Collaborate with the Director of Preclinical Skills and the Director of Clerkship Curriculum to develop methods to assess and track student outcomes across the four year DO curriculum.
Promote academic research and scholarly activity within the Division of Medical Education.
Masters -Education, Instructional Design or related field required.
Master’s in Education, Instructional Design, or related field required.
PhD in Education, Instructional Design, or related field. Experience in undergraduate medical education preferred.
