Essential Functions: Responsible for coordinating, facilitating, and submitting a class syllabus, class objectives and maintaining student records (attendance, disciplinary actions, evaluations, tests, quizzes and exams) in the following disciplines:
English, Literature, Creative Writing/Grammar
Mathematics, Algebra I through IV, Geometry and Pre-Calculus
Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics with labs
Foreign Language, Spanish, French or Arabic
Counseling (Group classes in social development, career assessment & interest, College preparation, etc.).
Candidate must attend required weekly meetings with the program director and coordinator
Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: A college degree and certification in the area of instruction or counseling
Teaching and/or counseling experience (high school and college)
Demonstrated expertise in teaching and counseling the program's target population (9-12th grades)
Ability to plan and coordinate activities and to conduct classes in an interesting, fun, and productive learning environment
Regular, consistent attendance is mandatory, as is excellent communication, written, and verbal skills
