The Flint Occupational Therapy Department is seeking applications for a 12-month facutly position as an Assistant Professor to teach in the newly designed Occupational Therapy Doctoral Program. The proposed start date for the OTD program is Fall 2019.

The faculty and staff of the Occupational Therapy Department at the University of Michigan-Flint strive to be recognized dedicated leaders, scholars, and practitioners who are committed to learning, teaching, scholarship and service, to educate and mentor culturally competent, doctoral prepared evidence-based practitioners to be visionaries and leaders in the profession of Occupational Therapy in local and global communities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Teaching on-campus, off-campus and on-line courses
Lecturing in classrooms
Instruction in laboratory courses
Supervising student scholarly activities
Serving on capstone, theses and dissertation committees
Supervising independent studies
Supervising and/or involvement in students' clinical/practicum or internship education where the focus and location of the education is in the clinical or applied setting
Acting in an advisory capacity to the off-campus clinical educator
Advising and mentoring of students
Supporting student organizations
Maintains personal scholarship according to the College of Health Sciences scholarship requirements for Tenure-Track Faculty
All CHS faculty members are expected to provide service to the University, college, department, profession and the community. Consistent with the mission of CHS and the University, professional service contributions to the Flint and regional community are valued as well as national and international contributions. Engagement in service activities at multiple levels is required. The quality and impact of service contributions is more important than the number of different service activities.
Ph.D. or equivalent academic doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy of health related field that has been awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE recognized regional accrediting body.
2 years minimum clinical experience in an assigned teaching area
Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching and student assessment
Experience and demonstrates a track record in research and scholarly activity
Commitment to community engagement
Values and participates in interdisciplinary work
Licensed OT in Michigan or in a U.S. jurisdiction or is eligible for licensure in Michigan
