Essential Functions: The Assistant Professor (Clinical) will:Teach and coordinate educational interactions within the Patient Evaluation I, II, and III courses. Responsible for teaching and other educational interactions within the PAS curriculum commensurate with education, training and expertise.Development and maintenance of course syllabi, educational materials and evaluation tools ensuring compliance with educational objectives of the program and ARC-PA standards.Be assigned other teaching responsibilities or course coordination within the program/department/college as necessary pertinent to demands of PAS curriculum and as time allows considering primary course coordination responsibilities. Provide academic advisement to students in accordance with program expectations.Interview and assist in assessment and selection of program applicants. Demonstrate initial development of scholarship and research interest and productivity. Participate in program committees at the Program, Department, and College levels commensurate with level of expertise and rank. Participates in Program generated community service projects as assigned. Attends and participates in Program, Department and College meetings on a regular basis.
Qualifications: The successful candidate should meet the following qualifications:Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited PA program or related accredited health care program. Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies (PAS) or equivalent based on experience and level of professional involvement.In good standing with the Michigan licensing board for Physician Assistant's. Must have current NCCPA certification. 2-3 years full -time clinical experience as a Physician Assistant or related health care clinician. Higher education experience, teaching, coordinating coursework and/or precepting PA students.House sound interpersonal communication skills necessary to negotiate, maintain and develop alumni/community involvement.Effective management and leadership skills necessary to work within a team toward a common goal.Highly motivated and innovative individual
