Essential Functions: Communicate with the study coordinators, research nurses, clinical staff, and sponsors to validate procedures for obtaining, processing, and shipping biospecimens. Work with physicians and clinical trials staff to obtain fresh tissue specimens for clinical trials from various procedure rooms and clinics. Prepare tissue specimens for transport to central laboratories. Track and follow-up on specimen arrival and testing, review protocols for feasibility of clinical samples, and Prepare internal protocol specific documents for clinical trials.Obtain tissue from outside hospitals and prepare for clinical trials. Process blood specimens by separating the plasma from the white blood cells and extracts RNA for long-term biospecimen storage to be used by other researchers. Assist with histology as needed.
Qualifications: PhD required in a biological field.Thorough understanding of Good Clinical Practice guidelines, Code of Federal Regulations, clinical trials monitoring, and regulatory compliance. Proficient with the Microsoft suite including Excel and Power point. Exceptional interpersonal skills required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Demonstrated leadership abilities and initiative required.
