Essential Functions: Oversees research protocols including oversight of outpatient participant recruitment, enrollment of participants into protocols, and collection of research data and biological specimens. Also oversees clinical research nursing including coordination of clinical activities involving research and collection of clinical data points (measurements, specimens) used for research.Manages staff including recruitment and hiring of staff, scheduling of staff for efficient utilization, orientation, training, and professional development of staff as well as ongoing performance management, coaching, and evaluation of staff including disciplinary decisions.Oversees quality assurance. Develops and updates Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Periodically evaluates clinical research processes, conducts reviews of participant charts as a quality control measure for research protocols and clinical research, and implements quality control measures to ensure optimal operations.Raises the standards of research by setting standards for research excellence, establishing plan for growth, and ensuring established goals are met.Collaborates with faculty and Director of Clinical Research Operations on new perinatal research project designs. Provides input during research project design stage and coordinates implementation of nursing-related project components.Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Requires Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Master's degree in Nursing preferred. Requires Registered Nurse License in State of Michigan Requires 3 years of nursing experience and 2 years management experience.Requires experience managing a multi-level staff and a patient/participant base in a fast-paced environment.Requires obstetrics experience, with prenatal, postpartum and/or high risk obstetrics experience.
