Essential Functions: The Department of Neurology is actively growing multiple clinical and translational research programs. The Department remains highly active in both clinical and basic research with nationally recognized programs in Neuroimmunology, Inherited Peripheral Nerve Diseases, Neuroimaging, Epilepsy, and Neurocritical Care. Abundant opportunities exist for collaboration with basic science departments and renewed efforts by the University to create a Translational Neuroscience Institute.We are currently recruiting a subspecialist in Multiple Sclerosis. The appointment is at Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level on clinician educator track.Conduct research in cell or molecular biology of inflammation and demyelination. Participate in research and educational activities of the Multiple Sclerosis Center. Participate in teaching programs of the Department of Neurology for medical students, residents, and fellows. Participate in teaching and research conferences and seminars of the Department of Neurology. Perform other work related duties as assigned by Chair or his designee.
Qualifications: M.D. or D.O. degree required. Valid Michigan medical license required. Completion of residency in Neurology. Board certified or eligible in Neurology. Training at fellowship level in clinical research in MS and related diseases. Faculty rank commensurate with credentials.
