The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Teaching (95%): Teach courses in an accredited dietetics program; topics include management of nutrition services, human resources, financial management and entrepreneurial aspects of dietetics. Teach computer-based courses focusing on spreadsheets for management functions and use of food management systems to reinforce concepts from class. Assist with other dietetics courses as needed with an emphasis on Medical Nutrition Therapy and interdisciplinary teams. Collaborate with Culinary Services and various food service operations while coordinating a food management practicum with an emphasis on event planning, recipe development, and food production. Serve as a committee member for Master of Science Dietetic Internship (MSDI) students and other appropriate masters projects. Teach an online graduate course in support of the MSDI program.
Service (5%): Actively participate in the Dietetics Curriculum Committee and other service to the department, college or university. This may include, but is not limited to, active participation in committee membership. Write letters of recommendation for students applying to scholarships, dietetic internships and professional programs. Represent the dietetics program by serving in professional organizations and attending professional conferences as needed and funds allow.
Masters -Dietetics, Human Nutrition or related field
Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion in teaching and practice. Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with a MS degree in Dietetics, Human Nutrition or related field. At least three years of work experience in the dietetics field as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. Demonstrated knowledge of food and nutrition service management software, such as CBORD; experience in teaching patients, clients or students from a variety of backgrounds; interest in utilizing a variety of teaching methods designed for student success; and excellent interpersonal, communication, technology and problem-solving skills.
Experience teaching in higher education. Management experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. Experience with CBORD; experience in coordinating community partners and recruiting practicum placement sites.
