The research in our laboratory is focused on understanding the mechanism of cardiovascular disease. Two postdoctoral or research specialist positions are now open for projects aimed at investigating the mechanism and potential treatment of cardiovascular disease. Research will be performed utilizing a variety of in vitro and in vivo approaches.
The applicant is required to function in an independent fashion and be responsible of his/her own research project. In particular, he/she will be expected to be able to design experiments, initially under the PI’s guidance, conduct experiments, process and analyze data, and potentially develop new and/or revise research methodologies. The successful candidate will be expected to be proficient at scientific writing, and be able to prepare research papers. While funding is currently available for the position, the candidate will be strongly encouraged to apply for his/her own funding, under the PI’s guidance.
A doctoral degree and familiarity with basic laboratory techniques in molecular biology field is required for this position. Previous experience in the field of vascular biology, stem cell biology, but not required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
To be familiar with basic molecular and cell biology techniques, bioinformatics, and animal model studies. Additional expertise in stem cell biology and vascular biology is a plus.
