Research Support - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
Prospecting and Strategy Analyst
The Corporate Research, Prospecting and Strategy Analyst position will be focused on understanding and prioritizing partnerships with corporations. Working under the guidance of the Associate Director of MSU Business-Connect, this individual will focus on University strengths and research priorities to create a specific map of engagement points and value propositions for corporate partners. This individual will also review past and current partnerships to verify MSU strengths and explore the corporate research landscape to help guide future engagement strategy.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a bachelor's degree in Business, Journalism, Pre-law, History, Psychology or Information Science or related field.
Three to five years of progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in research methods including on-line electronic searching, large mainframe databases, and PC-based software and relationship management software;
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Post graduate degree in business or STEM fields.
Ability to act effectively as a member of a team – working with others to develop strategies and solutions, engaging in a culture of continuous learning and teaching with peers.
Evidence of a high degree of self-organization, verbal communication, and writing skills.
Evidence of ability to balance competing priorities and effective time management skills.
Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people, and to build topic-specific social networks.
Ability to comprehend and explain highly technical scientific information at a business decision level.
