Suffolk University's Sawyer Business School is seeking a career development professional to join our collegial and dynamic Organizational Behavior (OB) group within the Management and Entrepreneurship Department as a non-tenure track instructor. Our department consists of 16 full-time faculty who leverage their professional networks in Boston and abroad to bring applied, experiential, real world and real-time business challenges into our classrooms.
We seek an engaging and collaborative career development professional with extensive business expertise and demonstrated strength in teaching career development courses and mentoring and coaching students on career development. Experience in course design is important. This position will require teaching evening and day classes as well as online primarily in our graduate programs. This is a non-tenure track instructor position with a specific focus on career development support for graduate students.
Design, develop and teach a career development course for all SBS graduate students. This course will be offered both at our Boston campus as well as online. This would require you to be on campus at least three days a week, available for student meetings as well as teaching on weekends.
Advising, mentoring and coaching of graduate students on career development, career planning activities and course selections.
Work with the Graduate Program team to design and implement the career development course for all SBS graduate students as well as integrated initiatives for the curriculum at the graduate level with the Career Development Center.
Support student groups as faculty advisor.
Leverage your network to identify organizations for career development.
Candidates must possess a master's or doctoral degree (ABD considered) in a management or business discipline.
Professional experience in the area of career development, including recruiting and hiring, through consulting, career counseling, coaching or any other relevant professional practice
Proven effectiveness in teaching and course design/curriculum development.
The Management and Entrepreneurship Department is known for its collaborative and supportive culture.
