The Fetal-Neonatal Neuroimaging and Developmental Science Center at Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a full-time research assistant for the NIH funded project on development and implementation on novel in vivo imaging techniques of the placenta and the developing fetus using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
This Research Assistant II Will Be Responsible For:
Preparing IRB protocol applications, submitting amendments and all other regulatory documentation requiring review by the IRB.
Maintaining and updating information as required by Hospital and Sponsor/NIH guidelines.
Recruiting, consenting, and scheduling pregnant women for research MRI studies.
Performing data collection at study visits (e.g. questionnaires and other TBD documents).
Potentially helping with conducting MRI scans, and/or biological sample handling.
Making sure that all investigators at the different research sites involved in this multi-centered project (BCH, MIT, MGH, BI and BWH) are up to date with their scheduled tasks.
Helping with the organization and the agenda of the weekly, monthly and quarterly progress report meetings.
Building and maintaining study databases.
Assisting with web page design and maintenance.
Primarily working with the assigned associated staff and investigators in the project, although there might be overlap and interaction with other studies within the Center.
Regular travel to the institutions involved in the project (MIT, MGH, BI and BWH).
Provides positive and effective customer service that supports departmental and hospital operations.
Contributes to the teamwork within and between departments and organizations.
To Qualify, You Must Have:
Bachelor's degree, AND a minimum of one year of relevant and related work experience.
Great organizational and interpersonal
Prior research experience involving sensitive clinical populations such as pregnant women, IRB preparation, or any field of medical imaging is desired.
Candidates with a strong interest in fetal development, obstetrics and maternal-fetal medicine, and/or the technical aspects of MRI acquisition and image analysis would excel in this position.
The ability to work after day time hours as needed and available for rare weekend study sessions.
