Essential Functions: Wayne State University's College of Education seeks applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in Learning Design and Technology Program, beginning August 2020. Candidates with expertise in instructional design and advanced learning technologies are encouraged to apply. Experience in instructional gaming, instructional simulations, and/or learning analytics is desirable. The salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate a commitment to diversity and a willingness to work in a multicultural setting, as well as a commitment to participating in program governance and decision-making.
Experience in delivering distance-learning courses and different distance learning modalities is required.
Required responsibilities include teaching, advising and mentoring undergraduate, master's and doctoral students, conducting research to obtain external funding, delivering scholarly publications, delivering presentations at international and national professional associations, and contributing to the university's mission and goals.
Teaching expertise and interest in one or more of the following fields is desirable: learning design, instructional gaming, instructional simulations, learning analytics, and program evaluation and assessments.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. is required of applicant in fields related to learning design and technology that will enable the candidate to specialize in an area of research, teaching and service.
Previous experiences in college and/or business and industry training, instructional design and assessment are desirable
