Essential Functions: The successful candidate will teach 3-4 courses including but not limited to analog and digital photography across a range of conceptual and material approaches and may also teach in digital media and/or graphic design during the fall and winter terms or provide equivalent service to the department, college and university; and other duties as assigned by the Chair. The candidate will work on an individual basis with graduate students, assist in the maintenance of the photography facilities, and provide appropriate professional service.We are particularly interested in scholars whose research and teaching prioritize diverse perspectives and histories and who demonstrate an understanding of the experience of those under-represented in higher education. Applicants should aim to promote inclusivity and dialogue both within the classroom and the larger communities of Wayne State University and the city of Detroit.
Qualifications: We require an MFA in art, design or closely related field.We are seeking an exceptional artist/teacher with experience teaching art at the college level.Evidence of teaching excellence and willingness to mentor students from diverse populations is required.
