Job Description The goal of the Cashiers Office is to serve and support Missouri S&T students and their families by providing accurate and timely information and provide quality customer service to the campus community. Students are currently billed on their student fee account for course-related tuition and fees, university housing, bookstore charges, Chartwells dining charges, traffic fines, library fines, chemistry lab breakage and limited miscellaneous charges. Departmental personnel present cash received for deposit to their University chartfields at the Cashiers window. A good working knowledge of the campus and departmental responsibilities is needed.
Provide friendly and accurate customer service to the campus community.
Answer student and parent questions and inquiries. Inquiries are normally regarding student fee accounts, payment amount due, financial aid disbursements etc.
Collect and post student fee account payments to the appropriate student accounts.
Verify departmental cash received funds and approve in the Finance application.
Disburse petty cash travel advances.
Disburse petty cash student loans.
Open and close the Cashiering module in PeopleSoft Student Financials daily.
Run end of day reports in PeopleSoft Student Financials for balancing to include PeopleSoft reports and query.
Combine monies received daily for student payments and departmental CRR's to reconcile cash receipts.
Daily image checks received for deposit.
Prepare monies for bank deposit.
Run daily SF queries for online payments and group post mail payments.
Data entry equation variables for graduate waivers.
Maintain departmental email communications.
Maintain departmental records retention.
Process return check payments for cashiers and internal University Departments.
Manage and maintain office supply inventory.
Perform related duties as assigned. All positions within Cashiers will act as backup for other positions to meet daily customer service demands.
Open and distribute US mail daily in the Cashiers area.
Prepare mail payments for group post data entry in PeopleSoft Student Financials.
Prepare CRR for student fee account mail payments to record revenue in the General Ledger.
High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
Minimum of three (3) years related customer service and cash handling experience is necessary.
Demonstrated organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast past environment.
Experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel, Word & Outlook.
Ability to use a keyboard and typing skills required.
PeopleSoft experience is desirable
University of Missouri and/or other higher education financial experience highly desirable.
Past billing/invoice experience is preferred.
