A total of three (3) (0.9 FTE), Registered Nurses will be hired to fill this job opening.
Hours & shifts are identical for both hires.

This is a multi-unit RN position, which involves staffing assignments on multiple units, per the labor agreement with UMPNC, Section H, page 55, Multi-Unit Positions.
The home unit will be 8D; holidays and PTO will be determined from the home unit. The RN can be scheduled on the assigned multi-unit, based on staffing needs and will be expected to staff on any multi-unit, to be determined at a later date. Units included in this multi-unit position include the home unit 8D Intermediate Care/Intensive Care Unit, and other units within the UH Adult Critical Care units. These multi-units may include: 6D Critical Care Medicine Unit, 5D Surgical ICU, and Trauma Burn ICU.
Our Patient and Families
8D is a 20-bed, Critical Care unit which provides care for critical and moderate care medical-surgical patients, as well as those patients who are in transition from ICU to general care and rehabilitation floors. Our patient population requires highly skilled nursing care for the acute and chronic ventilated patient as well as those patients who have difficulties weaning from ventilator support. We care for a broad variety of medical diagnosis and service many different medical teams in the institution.

Current Michigan RN license
One (1) year of ICU RN experience

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully resolve conflicts as demonstrated by current employment experience
One (1) year charge nurse experience
One (1) year of current ventilator experience
Salary & Nursing Framework Level: This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C. Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire. Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period. Applicants who have left the UMPNC bargaining unit must include on their resume dates of past employment including months and years of service along with effort. Positions less than 20 hours/week may be combined.
