Reporting to the Executive Vice President for Administration and Chief Information Officer (EVPA & CIO), the Executive Director provides strategic leadership and support for the University's efforts in online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced learning and teaching. The Executive Director directs and manages the educational technology team, which provides enterprise-wide educational technology support, instructional design support for online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced courses, classroom technology support, and course assessment services. The incumbent collaborates with academic leadership and college/unit-level instructional support professionals in developing the vision and strategic direction in the support of learning, teaching, and scholarship. The individual in this position leverages professional experience and current best practices to develop and retain an engaged, accountable, diverse, and high-performing workforce. The Executive Director acts as a champion for the effective and efficient use of MSU resources.
Serves as a principal advisor to the EVPA & CIO and other campus academic leadership in the design and delivery of enterprise-scale educational technology support initiatives, tools, and services that are inclusive and accessible.
Leads and engages in the university’s efforts in online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced learning and teaching; works with students, faculty, academic leadership, instructional support professionals, staff, and vendors on requirements management, education technology strategy and direction, course design, and course assessments.
Leads and manages the IT Services educational technology campus support team.
Oversees support for online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced learning and teaching, including instructional design, educational technology, classroom technology, and course assessment.
In collaboration with university stakeholders, identifies and implements new and innovative ways to deliver curriculum using the appropriate educational technologies and support to advance their use at the university.
Responsible for the department funding associated with educational technology services, ensuring on time and within budget delivery, and that projects under their leadership deliver intended value to the campus educational community.
