The Department of Art at Siena Heights University located in Adrian, MI, is currently seeking a qualified adjunct instructor to teach our synchronous online Conversational English II course for a six-week term with Aurora College located in Shanghai, China. This position is part of an international agreement between Siena Heights University and Aurora College and will prepare Aurora College students to successfully complete a BA degree in Art and Design at Siena Heights University.
The primary purpose of this course is to help students become proficient in conversational English with a focus on discussing works of art using appropriate art and design terminology. The instructor will be expected to design and deliver assignments in English that meet the course learning outcomes as specified by Siena Heights University’s Art Department. A syllabus with the relevant learning outcomes will be provided.
The appointment is a six-week contract with a possible renewal term and will take place sometime between April 16th and June 7th, 2021. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process.
Successful candidates will have training in ESL instruction. Preferred experience in teaching art or graphic design at the university level and proficiency in online teaching.
