Michigan State University is hiring a fixed-term position at the level of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor to teach Sports Journalism and Sporting Cultures in Rome and Italy, as summer education abroad program taking place in May/June. Sports Journalism and Sporting Cultures will study European sporting cultures (ancient and modern), and look at how sports journalism works in Rome, Italy and Paris, France.
Students will learn by doing and seeing: attending tours and guest lectures and experiencing sports and sports journalism live. Students will visit city monuments and stadiums, meet sports journalists and experts, tour media operations, and much more.
The overall goal of the program is to help students broaden their skills and perspectives on sports journalism.
Position is planned to recur every Summer Semester
Doctorate -Journalism, Sports Journalism, or relate
Ph.D. in journalism, sports journalism, or a related field.
The candidate should be familiar navigating in these cities and be comfortable with living and working abroad. The successful candidate should have previous teaching experience in sports journalism, journalism, or a related field.
