The primary responsibilities for this position include teaching and developing undergraduate and graduate level courses; managing a successful extramurally funded research program in an area of biomedical engineering; student advising, student mentoring and recruitment; conducting scholarly activities and other activities required for a successful and evolving academic career.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, engaging in accreditation procedures, program assessment and service to the Department, College and University as needed.

The Department of Chemical, Biological, and Bio- Engineering offers ABET-accredited Bachelors of Science programs in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, and Biological Engineering, and offers Masters of Science programs in Bioengineering and Chemical Engineering. The Department has 16 full-time faculty members, 4 staff members and 2 adjunct faculty members. Research includes the NSF Engineering Research Center for Revolutionizing Metallic Biomaterials, the NSFCREST Bioenergy Center and the NSFRED project,
