What will you be doing:
The Inpatient Workflow Design Specialist provides mentorship for operational departments and end users in the implementation of new systems and applications as well as ongoing optimizations/improvements of existing systems. Assist with the translation of requirements of both end users and systems analysts. Function as the liaison between EIS and the customer to ensure efficient workflow design, system build for customization, and optimization of clinical/revenue cycle systems to best serve our end users and patients.
Responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient processing of projects. Request information for smooth clinical and business operations.
Establishes working relationships with operational personnel, especially senior department management and clinicians.
With the mentorship of superiors, sets and ensures project goals, milestones and implementation dates are achieved.
Identifies potential problems/barriers for the projects and communicates to EIS leadership and/or project sponsors in a timely manner.
Tracks project issues and ensures that they are resolved.
Ensures identification of critical path and predecessors tasks required to complete the project successfully.
Compile lists of functional tasks/dates and communicates with user areas to ensure all tasks are included.
Ensure a testing plan is developed and executed.
Detail current state. Helps craft future state operational and clinical workflows.
Supervises project status. Ensures that appropriate project monitoring tasks are implemented and utilized.
Assists other applications project managers/leaders in the definition of project scope and identification of alternatives.
3+ years of clinical experience as an RN or NP in an Inpatient care setting required (Cedars-Sinai experience preferred).
Must possess an in-depth understanding of departmental operations and processes as well as clinical nursing policies and procedures.
Familiar with clinical, financial, and/or patient management health care applications/systems is required.
An understanding of the healthcare applications suite and their place in the Inpatient settings.
Must possess excellent clinician and physician relationship skills.
Ability to translate the end-user workflow and requirements into application requirements/design.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
A Bachelor's degree in a related field (prefer BSN) or equivalent experience and training is required.
Master's degree is preferred.
Current License as Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner (preferred)
