WSU is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.Essential Functions:Teach Entrepreneurship and Innovation and related courses.Develop learning goals and course syllabi in collaboration with the Program Director and in accordance with university policies and best practices, maintain academic rigor through course readings, instructional activities and course assignments, use the learning management system (LMS) to provide access to these materials and provide students with notification and timely feedback with respect to assignments.Develop and improve course content and pedagogy, striving for excellence in teachingEmploy appropriate assessment techniques to measure student performance in achieving course learning goals and objectivesCommunicate progress in the course to students in a timely mannerDetermine and submit students' final grades in accordance with established School's policies and proceduresBe prepared and present throughout each scheduled class, and contact the Program Director in advance to make appropriate arrangements for unavoidable absencesProvide instruction using the assigned teaching mode (traditional, hybrid, or on-line).Participate in faculty meetings and support innovation and improvement initiatives to the curriculumComply with all Mike Ilitch School of Business and Wayne State University's policies and procedures.
Qualifications: Applicant should possess a master's degree in a field related to the primary teaching responsibility area and significant professional experience that is directly related to the primary area of teaching responsibility, and should satisfy two of the following examples of activities related to their primary area of teaching in the past five years: Documented and maintenance of a professional certifications and other continuing education that is related to teaching responsibilities;Significant employment during the previous five years;Consulting activities (paid or pro bono) that are material in terms of time and substance;Presentations at seminars, webinars etc. related to practitioners/professionals and/or at academic conferences; Participation and an active involvement in professional events that focus on the practice of business, management, and related issues; Publication in applied and/or professional journals and/or other business/management publications; Significant participation in business professional associations, professional standard setting bodies or policy-making bodies that focus on the practice of business; Relevant, active service on boards of directors of business or non-profit organization; The candidate must possess the qualifications necessary to be designated a professionally qualified faculty member in accordance with AACSB standards
