The Department of Pathology, University Hospital Phlebotomy Team is looking for an outgoing, dedicated, caring individual. The Inpatient team is dedicated to the care of patients and is a fast paced, exciting laboratory where the work is rewarding and the staff are friendly and dedicated. Obtain and collect blood and urine specimens according to laboratory specifications and regulations.
Verify correct information on requisitions.
Obtain blood on patients with alternate access devices.
Prepare specimens for transport.
In order to be considered for this position the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment.
High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
A minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience is required for the Specialist level.
Considerable experience in phlebotomy desired.
Demonstrated experience working in a team environment.
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
