Allied Health - Staff/Administrative, Staff/Administrative
This position is designed to assure all needs are met relating to the provision of patient care in the Faculty Practice/AEGD clinic. Responsibilities include 4-handed dentistry, exposing, scanning, mounting radiographs, charting, maintaining and caring for all equipment and providing assistance in all areas of the clinic, including front desk, as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1) Carefully review daily appointment schedules, prepare operatory to provide dental treatment assuring proper HIPAA and OSHA/infection control procedures are followed. (2) Accurately manage necessary lab responsibilities as directed by doctor and assure lab cases are available for delivery. (3) Assist in accurate electronic charting and record maintenance and assist chairside using proper four-handed dentistry. (4) Properly care for and maintain operatory equipment including water lines, suction system, ultrasonic units, etc… (5) Radiology duties including proper exposing, processing, mounting radiographs. (6) Assist in accurately ordering and maintaining inventory system within the clinic. (7) Perform aspects of preparing all for dispensary/sterilization, assisting throughout the clinics as needed or in the central dispensary as needed; stocking, distributing, and collecting of instruments and materials. (8) Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate degree preferred.
Experience: Six months 4-handed chairside dental assisting.
Michigan Radiology Certification (required). BLS/CPR current or attainable within 90 days (required). RDA or CDA (preferred).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to multi-task, be flexible, friendly and team oriented. Must have experience working with the public in a diverse population. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and a productive member of the team.
Job requires repetitively lifting lightweight objects where frequent bending or stooping alternates with lighter activities.
Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal dental office.
