Job Summary:

Adjunct Positions are filled by semester on an as needed basis. Applicants in this applicant pool are reviewed when the department has an immediate need to fill a vacancy.  Review of applications will then stop for the semester once the vacancy has been filled.

Medical Insurance Billing & Coding Adjunct (part-time) faculty teach courses in didactic and externship formats. Depending upon program needs and the candidate’s qualifications, teaching assignments will be on LCC’s downtown Lansing campus with the possibility of Livingston and East campus assignments. Adjunct faculty are expected to work collaboratively with senior department faculty, department coordinators, and the Program Director to develop course content consistent with official course syllabi, to deliver course instruction to students, and to be available for student assistance and advising outside of class. Additional responsibilities may include participation in course assessment, department/program meetings, advisory board meetings, professional development activities, clinical and externship experiences, and other duties as assigned. Faculty must demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy.

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

Required Qualifications:

Associate’s Degree or higher.

Current Certified Professional Coder certification.

Significant work experience in medical insurance billing and coding.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Teaching experience at the college or community college level.

Experience utilizing a variety of teaching methodologies, including online strategies.
