The Wood Shop Technician is responsible for helping to oversee the wood shop facilities. Technician assists in the training of students, staff, and faculty in the safe and effective use of wood shop tools, equipment, and machinery. Position will consistently work 35 hours per week Monday-Friday from 3pm-11pm. Additional hours on weekends may be worked as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in a professional office and college campus environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving parts, and vibration. The employee is exposed to outside weather conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. Must be able to climb ladders. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
