Secretary, Athletics Department

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 52 weeks, Part-time.  Up to 27 hours per week.  Some flexing of hours to include weekends or evenings by be required by the College to meet needs.

CLASSIFICATION: ESP, Pay Band P

Hourly Rate: $16.00 per hour

FLSA STATUS: Hourly/Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:  

The Athletics Department Secretary provides support for the athletic department.

 RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Serve as a receptionist for the facility and events.

• Layout and proofing for event general-print materials for the department and the institution as assigned.

• Assist Athletics Department staff, coaches, and student-athletes with institution requests and needs.

• Assist with department daily operations as appropriate.

• Assist with the hospitality area as assigned.

• Data entry, look-up, and maintenance in systems as assigned.

• Knowledge of schedules and events to assist with communicating/advocating for attendance and support.

• Assist with securing highly confidential information including but not limited to student eligibility and health records.

• Perform other duties as requested.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Supervised by the Director of Athletics

SUPERVISION GIVEN: None

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  Associate degree required. Will consider candidates in the process of obtaining an associate degree.  At least one (1) year of similar experience preferred.

• High degree of computer literacy.

• Ability to multi-task and adapt to rapidly changing demands and priorities.

• Possesses a professional attitude, takes initiative, and can maintain confidential information.

• Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff at all levels.

• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize assignments.

• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
