This is an entry level part-time (50%) Clinical Research Coordination position in the Dept of Psychiatry. The successful candidate will begin working on the following project:

ReFrame Study - This study involves coordination with participants with anxiety disorders. The position is participant-facing role including recruitment, screening, and consenting of people diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorders, Social Anxiety, and Panic and Illness anxiety. It includes full study coordination responsibilities and data gathering using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). This work uses a novel fMRI neurofeedback paradigm to understand brain-behavior correlates of anxiety disorders.

This position is ideal for a recent psychology/neuroscience graduate who would like to obtain research experience in a research laboratory before applying to graduate school.

Position Specific Responsibilities will Include : 

• Participant screening and recruitment
• Schedule of research participants
• Administration of study questionnaires
• Running behavioral experiments
• Running fMRI experiments
• Supervision of undergraduate students in laboratory
• Maintaining databases
• Processing neuroimaging data
• Assisting in manuscript and presentation preparation

Clinical Research Technician: 

• Associate degree in Health Science or an equivalent combination of related education and experience is necessary. 

• Minimum 1 year of directly related experience in clinical research and clinical trials is necessary. (Please review SoCRA?s Definition of a Clinical Research Professional for qualifying experience prior to applying.)  

   

  or 

• An advanced degree in a health-related areas such as: Health Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Public Health, Health Care Administration, Clinical Research Administration, Social Work, Psychology, Epidemiology, Foreign MD.
  or

• Minimum 3 years of human subject experience (clinical, lab or health regulations) such as related patient care, related community health and wellness, related clinical information, and research.  

Clinical Research Assistant: 

• High school diploma or GED is necessary.

Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to follow detailed protocols

Clinical Research Technician: 

• Bachelor's degree in Health Science or an equivalent combination of related education and experience is desirable. 

• An understanding of medical terminology, experience in a large complex health care setting, ability to effectively communicate with staff and faculty of all levels, and knowledge of university policies and procedures is desirable. 

   

Clinical Research Assistant: 

• Associate Degree in Health Science or an equivalent combination of related education and experience is desirable.  An understanding of medical terminology, experience in a large complex health care setting, ability to effectively communicate with staff and faculty of all levels, and knowledge of university policies and procedures is desirable. 

Day time hours, specific times to be determined with the Principle Investigator. This will be discussed during interview. The hours would still fall roughly 9-5 on weekdays, but the exact hours on those days, whether it be morning or afternoon depends on the fMRI scanner schedule.

This position may be underfilled at the CRC -Assistant title based on selected candidates' qualifications. 

The PREP Early Psychosis lab has new and exciting projects pending. One upcoming study we want to highlight is the EPINET project. EPINET (funding pending) is a multi-site clinical trial embedded within an NIMH-sponsored learning health system for early psychosis. This position will interact with the coordinating site, attend regular clinical meetings of the early psychosis clinic, and manage the operations of the learning health system in that clinic. There is also a clinical trial component for which the coordinator will consent and manage the enrollment of clinicians and participants in the trial. This study will consist of mindfulness-based stress reduction treatment administered in a group format.

As we continue to grow as a lab, there is potential to grow within this EPINET project. While we are only seeking a 50% position right now, we would welcome applications from candidates who are interested in both part-time and full-time positions.
